Chef Eric aka Crazy Eddie got his name from being a long time brewer. Edward is his middle name and his beers were some wild brew's... Over the years he got to be known as Crazy Eddie the mad fermentation scientist, and the guy who makes the awesome beers and sauces... Eric grew up around food and his family were big time BBQ enthusiasts, so the rest of this was just fate.. Eric grew up loving sports, and played a lot of soccer as a kid. Growing up in southern California and playing soccer he had a few Mexican friends... ok a lot of Mexican friends! At Christmas, imagine the only white boy surrounded by hundreds of home made tamales...it was like being in heaven and that's how the spicy passion began!
Eric's worked in the food business since 13 years old and later was the head chef for many years at some really great restaurants. Since 1996 Eric, his wife Bettina and half brother Guy have owned and operated four restaurants of their own which has always been a compliment to Eric's career in wine. Eric has worked in the wine industry for some of the top wineries in North America and has been working in production wine making for over 20 years. Food, beer and wine have always been the passions and a life style.
When Eric met his wife Bettina she owned a catering company. She specialized in a very unique style of cuisine and more on the lines of international fusion. She loves to combine ingredients that not only compliment the foods but create a special experience for the individual. Bettina is involved with the customer interface side of the company and helps to taste each new product to ensure it's balance
Guy has worked as an operations manager for many well known restaurants in his career. He has held almost every position in the food business and is considered an accomplished grill master. He left the food production business to pursue a career in food distribution. Guy handles sales and marketing and he also helps taste all our products to ensure impact of flavors are maintained.
In 1997 Eric started making his own dry rubs for BBQ events. The Rubs were a huge hit with all of the patrons and the word started to spread. From 2005 to 2008 Eric's Tri-Tip was voted the best in San Luis Obispo county that's three years in a row..and since 2002 Eric has been experimenting with marinades, sauces, and salsa's with great success, his sauces and dressings have always been the backbone of the restaurants. In 2009 Crazy Eddie's started producing wholesale products available in fine gourmet stores, markets, online and at our restaurant.
